How to Tie a Grinner Knot

Step-by-Step Guide

The Grinner Knot, also known as the Uni Knot, is a versatile and strong fishing knot that can be used to connect a line to a hook, lure, or swivel. It is easy to tie and holds well under heavy loads.

Materials you'll need:

  • Fishing line
  • Hook, lure, or swivel

Instructions:

  1. Pass the fishing line through the eye of the hook, lure, or swivel.
  2. Wrap the line around the standing line 5-7 times.
  3. Pass the tag end of the line through the loop you created in step 2.
  4. Pull the tag end tight to cinch the knot.
  5. Trim the excess line.

Tips:

  • Use the same line to tie the knot to ensure maximum strength.
  • Wet the knot before tightening it to prevent fraying.
  • Practice tying the knot a few times to get it right.
