In a significant development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced major reshuffles in key security forces. Bihar's Director General of Police (DGP) R.S. Bhatti has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), while Daljit Singh Chawdhary has been elevated to the position of DG of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Experienced and Distinguished Officers
R.S. Bhatti, an IPS officer of the 1987 batch, has a distinguished career spanning over three decades. He has held various key positions in the Bihar Police, including ADGP (Law and Order) and DGP (Prisons). Bhatti is known for his expertise in counter-terrorism and intelligence operations.
Daljit Singh Chawdhary, also an IPS officer of the 1987 batch, has extensive experience in border management and counter-insurgency operations. He has served in various capacities in the BSF, including as Inspector General (IG) of the Jammu Frontier and Special Director General (Operations). Chawdhary is highly regarded for his leadership and operational capabilities.
Strengthening Security Apparatus
The appointments of Bhatti and Chawdhary are expected to further strengthen the security apparatus of the country. The CISF is responsible for the security of critical infrastructure, including airports, seaports, and industrial complexes, while the BSF guards India's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
